ASMOF (NSW) Audited Accounts 2015

Australian Salaried Medical Officers’ Federation (NSW) (“ASMOF NSW”) is a registered trade union under the NSW Industrial Relations Act 1996 (“the Act”). The Act imposes financial accountability obligations on NSW Unions. This includes the requirement to lodge audited accounts with the Industrial Registrar in respect of each financial year of the Union and to provide to members a copy of the Financial Report (free of charge).

The Financial Accounts of the ASMOF (NSW) have been audited in accordance with the provisions of the Act.

Certificates required to be given under the Act by the Accounting Officer and the Committee of Management have been completed in accordance with the provisions of the Act and contain no qualifications.

A perusal of the Financial Statements contained in this report indicates an operating surplus of $479,052 for the financial year. Under its current leadership ASMOF (NSW) remains in a solid financial position and stands ready for the next stage of strategic development.

In accordance with the requirements of the Act, the attention of members is drawn to the provision of the Sub-Sections (1) and (2) of Section 512 of the Industrial Relations Act 1991, preserved as regulations under section 282(2) - Industrial Relations Act 1996, which read as follows:

  1. A member of an organisation, or the Industrial Registrar, may apply to the organisation for specified information prescribed by the regulations in relation to the organisation.
  2. An organisation must, on the making of such an application, make the specified information available to the member or the Industrial Registrar in the manner, and within the time, prescribed by the regulations
 

 

The Australian Salaried Medical Officers’ Federation (NSW) Branch is a branch of the Federally registered union.

The Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009 (“the RO Act”) imposes financial accountability obligations on Federal Registered Unions.

This includes the requirement to prepare and lodge a financial report and provide the full report to members.

Certificates required to be given under the Act by the Accounting Officer and the Executive have been completed in accordance with the provisions of the RO Act and contain no qualifications.

ASMOF prides itself on ensuring strict sets of financial governance principles and policies and I am pleased to report that the attached financial report for meets the requirements of the RO Act and no anomalies or cause for concern have been identified.
