ASMOF Annual General Meeting

As many members may recall from previous years, the AGM is normally scheduled in February of each year, and followed by that month’s State Council meeting.  On this occasion, both of these meetings have been scheduled for Tuesday, 28 February 2012, with the AGM commencing at 6pm.  The AGM provides an opportunity for members to hear first-hand reports from the President and Executive Director of ASMOF on the events of the last twelve months, and also discuss the challenges confronting members in the coming year.  It also provides of course an opportunity to have your say and be part of the dialogue about how ASMOF and its members will confront the many challenges ahead in the most positive and effective manner. 

Consistent with Rule 37 of ASMOF (NSW), a registered State Industrial organisation under the Industrial Relations Act 1996, financial members are entitled to attend the Annual General Meeting required to be held within three months of the end of December (being the end of the financial reporting year for industrial organisations).  Under Rule 37, members must receive 28 days notice of such a meeting, inclusive of its time of commencement and location. 

It is from a practical point of view essential that you provide notice of your attendance to ensure adequate seating, the most appropriate seating layout of the conference room is identified, along with ensuring adequate catering is provided.  Limited free undercover parking may also be available.  Please indicate your attendance by sending an email to asmof@asmof.org.au.  If you wish to discuss any aspect of the AGM please call 9212 6900 and we will be happy to answer any question you may have.  A reminder will be sent to all members nearer to the AGM date. 

Please note that participation by way of teleconference will be available for those who cannot attend in person.  Having your voice heard by giving your proxy to a colleague who is attending is also permitted.  Please contact us to discuss and obtain further information on both these circumstances.
