Daylight Savings

It’s that time of year again.

This weekend daylight savings commences on Sunday with clocks going forward one hour at 3am to 4am.

If you work overnight when daylight savings commences and the clock is rolled forward you will work one hour less but will be paid according to the clock. This means when the clock is put forward one hour, if you work seven hours you will be paid for eight hours.

Conversely, when the clock is put back one hour in April 2020 an employee working an overnight shift will work one hour more but aren't paid for that extra hour.
