For consultation – DRAFT ‘Procurement and use of vehicles within NSW Health’ Policy

The Ministry of Health (‘MoH’) has provided ASMOF with the following DRAFT Policy for consultation:

  • DraftProcurement and use of vehicles within NSW Health’ Policy.

This current draft policy combines the following two documents:

  • ‘Motor vehicles – Use of Within NSW Health’PD2014_051. This is the existing policy proposed to be replaced by the current draft.
  • ‘Motor vehicles acquisition and management practices for NSW Department of Health’ GL2011_010. The MoH informed us that this document has been redundant for several years as a result of the MoH changing fleet management providers some 6 years ago, but the document had not been updated.

One of main changes in the current draft is the inclusion of 4.2.2 Specialist Medical Administrators, which was not in either of the old policies.

The draft policy makes reference to the NSW Treasury and MoH vehicle acquisition requirements, and it also outlines the responsibilities of the individuals using vehicles procured by NSW Health for both public (business use) and private purposes.

We will be providing our response (including our questions) to the MoH on their draft policy and we invite our members to provide your comments and questions on the draft. Please send us your feedback to by no later than COB on Friday, 25 October 2019.
