HealthRoster continues to be implemented and will eventually replace all rostering systems now used in NSW Health.

HealthRoster, which is award compliant, has been applied to Medical Officers and Career Medical Officers in Western NSW LHD and the first pay for those Medical Officers and Career Medical Officers was on 8 December 2016.

A feature has been built into HealthRoster termed “Hours Apportionment” that will facilitate the automatic rostering of ordinary shifts and rostered overtime known at the commencement of the roster cycle. Unrostered overtime will continue to be added to HealthRoster as it is worked.

The Hours Apportionment feature will allow for Medical Officers and Career Medical Officers to see their rostered ordinary shifts and any rostered overtime shifts at the start of the roster.

Western NSWLHD has started to use the Hours Apportionment functionality to prepare the rosters for the roster cycles that commence on Monday 27 February 2017 and the first pay day will be 16 March 2017.

Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD will start to use the functionality in time for the roster cycle that will commence on 13 March which will result in the first pay on Thursday March 2017.

As with the normal business process should any issue arise for the use of this feature at an LHD, it will be managed in the first instance at the LHD and if necessary then escalated in the standard escalation process.

A timetable is yet to be determined in respect of the Hours Apportionment functionality for Medical Officers and Career Medical Officers at the LHDs currently using HealthRoster but it is anticipated that it will be implemented at North Sydney LHD and then Sydney LHD in the first half of the 2017 calendar year. The implementation of the functionality in Northern NSWLHD, Mid North Coast LHD, Sydney Children’s Network and Health Pathology will be a matter of discussion with those Health Agencies and we will be advised when a timetable for the second half of the 2017 calendar year has been finalised.

HealthRoster is being implemented in other LHDs as previously advised and the Hours Apportionment functionality will be included as part of the normal implementation process.”
