ISLHD Review: Community Mental Health Service (ADULT) Care

ASMOF has been provided with correspondence from Julie Carter Director of Mental Health Services ISLHD advising of a review of the Community Mental Health (ADULT) Service. The proposed Model of Care (MOC’) is attached for your perusal. ASMOF has been advised that the (‘MOC’) has been developed through a comprehensive, structured process over a number of years which has involved mental health services staff. The MOC is also informed by key national, NSW State and District plans. The MOC outlines how CMHS, together with mental health consumers, carers, family members and key stakeholders will develop programs and services that are person-centred, recovery focused, evidence based, quality driven, and outcomes orientated.

The aim of the MOC is to continue to guide the development and future direction for the ISLHD MHS and the Illawarra Shoalhaven Primary Health Network and other providers of services for the next five years.

The Director Mental Health Services has advised that this proposed model will not have a significant effects on employees, however based on feed back from members ASMOF may request a Union Specific Meeting be established to work through any issues/concerns that are raised by our membership.

Members are encouraged to review the MOC document and provide any comments and/or concerns to Industrial Organiser Kerrie Seymour via email by close of business Thursday 13 July 2017.
