Keep Our Hospitals Public Campaign: Bowral Community Forum

As members are aware, ASMOF, along with the other health unions, are engaged in a campaign to push back against the privatisation of our public health system.

The NSW Government wants non-government hospital operators to design, construct, operate and maintain these hospitals. This is the thin edge of the wedge and clearly exposes this Government's appetite for privatising core public services.

Our Doctors, community members and a growing number of politicians are standing up and voicing their opposition to this privatisation agenda that will endanger safe patient care in these communities.

Community members in Bowral are holding a community forum on Monday 13 March at 6:45pm at the Bowral Memorial Hall.

We are proud to note that one of our ardent public health advocates, Dr Geoff Murray, will be presenting a speech to the community about the pitfalls of privatisation.

We are inviting our members in the area to come along, have some food and support the campaign. It will be a great opportunity to catch up with your other health colleagues, and ask any questions you may have to your union representatives about the campaign.

We are proud of our doctors for taking a stand and speaking up to protect their safe patient care commitments to all communities that rely on our world class public health system.

ASMOF and our Doctors will continue to take the fight to the NSW Government, and we look forward to your continued support in defending our great public health system.
