Since our last update, it is ASMOF’s understanding that the mandatory modules required to be completed by senior and junior medical officers have not changed. There has been no agreement by the Working Group (being representatives from ASMOF, the AMA, the Ministry and HETI) to add additional modules to the existing list.

At present, the mandatory modules relevant for Senior Medical Officers (including all VMOs) to complete are:
  1. Fire Safety and Evacuation (only for staff working in Healthcare Facilities)
  2. Privacy- Know your boundaries
  3. Open Disclosure
  4. Hand Hygiene
  5. Basic Life Support & Life Support Assessment Tools
  6. Between the Flags (Online)
  7. Fetal Welfare Assessment and Obstetric Emergencies and Neonatal
  8. Resuscitation Training (FONT) (only for staff in Obstetrics/Gynaecology)

For Junior Medical Officers, these mandatory modules are:
  1. Fire Safety and Evacuation (Online and Practical)
  2. Privacy: Know Your Boundaries
  3. Open Disclosure
  4. Basic Life Support & Life Support Assessment Tools
  5. Between the Flags (Online)
  6. Hand Hygiene
  7. Work Health and Safety
  8. Respecting the Difference (Online and Face to Face (where available))
  9. Fetal Welfare Assessment and Obstetric Emergency and Neonatal
  10. Resuscitation Training (FONT) (only for staff in Obstetrics/Gynaecology)

There may be further updates in the coming weeks as ASMOF is currently liaising with the Ministry.
