St Vincent’s voluntary redundancy plan - what will this mean for members?

St Vincent’s Hospital has told staff and unions they are rolling out a voluntary redundancy (VR) program.

We are holding a meeting of ASMOF members (and potential members) from 12.30pm to 2.00pm on Monday 26 February in the Level 4 Function Room in the St Vincent’s Clinic.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the proposed VR program and listen to any concerns members may have about this.

Members have already raised questions regarding the following:

  • Has the hospital set a quota of staff they would like to get rid of?
  • Can I be forced to take a redundancy?
  • If many staff take redundancies how will this affect the health service being provided to the local community.
  • Will this put putting additional strain on medical staff who remain.
  • Will this lead to increased workloads for the remaining medical staff.

Please invite your doctor colleagues to the meeting and remind them they will need to join ASMOF if they require further assistance or advice throughout this process.
