Support the Bill to end the criminalisation of abortion in NSW- join us on September 14

ASMOF supports the Reproductive Health Care Reform Bill 2019 which is currently being debated in the NSW parliament, which would ensure that abortion is decriminalised in New South Wales and regulated as a health procedure and not by the criminal law. The Bill supports autonomy over reproductive and sexual healthcare, and provides greater clarity and certainty for doctors and other health practitioners.

You may be aware that the Bill was expected to be debated and potentially passed in the Upper House last week, but this process has been delayed until September 17 and 18, when NSW upper house MPs will be asked to vote on laws that could finally grant women the legal right to access abortion care in this state.

The NSW Pro-Choice Alliance, which includes Family Planning NSW, is organising an event for the 14th September, to show support for the Bill and counter the very noisy opposition.

You are invited to join ASMOF at the event and show your commitment to this historic Bill. It is very important that there is a strong presence on the day so come along and be part of our advocacy - the more people who are seen to stand together on this, the more powerful our voice will be. Please bring your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours and share this invitation with your networks.

For more information and to RSVP, check out the Facebook event: and for more background on the campaign please visit the Alliance’s website:

We hope to see you there!
