The Alliance : Clinical School Visits

The Clinical school visits being undertaken by Staff and Members (The AMA (NSW) and ASMOF (NSW) Alliance have continued throughout the week, with visits to Gosford Hospital (Friday), Calvary Mater Hospital, Newcastle (Monday) and John Hunter Hospital (Tuesday).

The Alliance team were able to meet and speak to approximately 83 final year medical students across the three sites about a range of subjects. The focus was on what the students may experience during their Intern year. Our Alliance Doctors gave valuable ‘survival tips’ that will be sure to stay in the minds of the participants.

Many thanks to Dr Chamitha Weerasinghe (Gosford), Dr Alison Chandler (Calvary Mater) and Drs Kathleen Wild & Sarah O’Reilly-Harbidge (John Hunter) for sharing their thoughts and experiences to their respective groups.

ASMOF spoke to the students about their Award entitlements, such as access to leave, and also spoke about the many benefits of being a part of the Alliance.
