Working from home safely

14-Aug-2020

Peter Remfrey, the Chief Executive Officer of the Workers Health Centre (WHC) has asked if we could share their Ergo Check Fact Sheet with members.

The Fact Sheet is produced as part of the WHC commitment to health education for working people and is in direct response to the a large number of inquiries they have received from people working from home during COVID19.

It is clear that not every worker has been supplied with the sort of office equipment that would be expected in the workplace.

The Fact Sheet identifies a few simple changes and control measures that can be implemented when working from home to minimise muscular skeletal and repetitive strain workplace injuries.

It should be noted that this is not a substitute for the legal obligation and duty of the employer under the NSW work health and safety laws to provide equipment and ensure that proper ergonomic assessments are undertaken.
